Post-Meal Walk Planner

The cheapest glucose intervention known is a short, easy walk after eating. Tell the planner when you finish your meal and it gives you the exact window to be moving in, so "I should walk more" becomes an appointment.

Even two to five minutes measurably helps; ten to twenty is the sweet spot.

Why such a small walk works

When you walk, your leg muscles pull glucose out of the bloodstream to fuel themselves, and much of that uptake happens without needing insulin at all. Do it while a meal is being absorbed and the muscles intercept part of the glucose before it can pile up in the blood. A 2022 meta-analysis in Sports Medicine found that even light-intensity walking after meals significantly lowered the post-meal glucose rise compared with staying seated.

The habit is powerful precisely because it is small. No gym, no gear, no sweat: a slow loop around the yard after lunch counts. In a warm climate the after-dinner walk is the comfortable one, and it happens to target the largest meal of the day.
